Literature Text

Sometimes a city brings rough memories
And it’s hard to drive through because of enemies
Songs can be just as depressing and blue
They remind me of my moments with you

It is hard to look at what’s behind us
The moon is still glowing without a fuss
It caressed you and I, I will move onward
Your voice still lingers, you I have honored

The stoplight has remained red since I left
I would not reconcile you, can attest
There was fog in my head because of you
It was only now that I got a clue
Where is it new, there must be a way out
Because my memories are not far-out
This is actually my first ever sonnet. And since I didn't look carefully enough, this is a modern one, rather than a Shakespearean one like I planned it to be. ^^; It took me about 15-20 minutes to write... and then I realized I messed up again. UGHH. It's frustrating not doing free-verse.

I'm actually submitting this for a contest sooo.

My inspiration came from a song... Some of the lyrics were borrowed and revised because that would be plagiarism otherwise.

With that being said,

THIS IS MINE. NO STEALY.

And if you want to listen to the truly beautiful song that I absolutely love...

You'll thank me later.

This is nice (I'm taking you won the contest?)
Gotta say the second verse is my favorite of the three
